First UNICEF's Regional Workshop on ‘Renewal Focus on USI and its Integration within Food Fortification conducted

The TFNC Coordinator for the Universal Salt Iodization Program (Mrs. Rose Msaki) is among the participants of the First UNICEF's Regional Workshop on ‘Renewal Focus on Universal Salt Iodization and its Integration within Food Fortification’ for West, Central, Eastern and Southern African Region. This workshop is held at Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra Ghana from 28th – 30th October, 2024.
Objectives of the workshops are:
- To learn of the latest evidence on the Large Scale Food Fortification (LSFF)/salt iodization interventions and concepts/ agendas and the ongoing global discussions on how to maximize their efficiency and impact;
To learn from respective experiences at global, regional and country level about LSFF/salt iodization programme designs and key components;
To discuss successes and challenges in UNICEF’s and global food fortification and salt iodization programmes; and
To identify ongoing and new approaches for more effective, integrated, and sustainable LSFF/salt iodization programmes.
